New Delhi: Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu's Judwaa 2, which had a 'terrefic' opening on day one is 'phenomenal' on day 2, reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The David Dhawan directed film has made a total of Rs 36.65 crore so far and is still counting. Judwaa 2, which is a remake of Salman Khan's 1997 Judwaa, earned Rs 20.55 crore on the first day of the weekend while it managed to make Rs 16.10 crore on Friday. "The film is all set for a 'huge' Sunday and Monday," read one of Taran Adarsh's tweet while the other read that with Judwaa2 Varun Dhawan scores his first Rs 20 crore NBOC on a single day.
Earlier, Salman Khan, who plays a cameo in Judwaa 2, shared the trailer of the film on Twitter and wrote, "Judwaa 1 tweeting for Judwaa 2. To which, Varun replied, "You will always be the original Judwaa bhai."

In his review for NDTV, of Judwaa 2, film critic Raja Sen wrote: "A remake of Dhawan's twenty year old Judwaa that is, for some reason, titled like a sequel - there is a relatively inconsequential scene where Varun Dhawan, waiting at a hospital, pulls the oxygen mask off an old man in order to give himself some air. This old man wheezes and strains frantically, and while this may surely be a coincidence, it is rather telling that the old man looked like Manmohan Desai, king of the commercial entertainer. Desai might have remade his own movies and recycled many a plot, but a movie like Judwaa 2 would certainly leave him gasping. Because it is as unnecessary as it gets."
Judwaa 2, which opened across 4,000 screens worldwide, did not receive a great response from film critics but it has been hailed by Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Anupam Kher.
