New Delhi:
Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2, which released on Friday, 'emerges as one of the best openers of 2017,' reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Judwaa 2 opened to mixed reviews but is coming out victorious at the box office. On Friday, Varun's film earned Rs 16.10 crore and over the weekend, Judwaa 2 collected approximately Rs 42 crore. The film's current total now stands at Rs 59.25 crore. Mr Adarsh predicts that Judwaa 2 will score 'big numbers' again today considering Monday is a holiday. "The SMASHING opening weekend biz of Judwaa 2 proves yet again that well-made mass entertainers will never go out of fashion. Varun hits the ball out of the park. Rs 20 crore business on two consecutive days - a rare feat that very few actors can boast of," he tweeted.
Here's the box office score of Judwaa 2.
In his review for NDTV, film critic Raja Sen gave Varun Dhawan's film 1.5 stars out of 5. "Varun Dhawan curbs his natural spontaneity to try and ape Salman Khan. The new film is almost exactly like the old one - it is as if they used the same script - but the unpredictable off-the-wall bounciness of the original is now executed by template. As Prem, the nerd, Dhawan isn't half bad as he chastises his twin for thrusting his pelvis, but as the ruffian Raja, doing said thrusts, he seems significantly out of his depth," he wrote.
Judwaa 2 is a remake of Salman Khan's 1997 blockbuster Judwaa. Both the films were directed by David Dhawan, Varun's father. Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernanadez co-star opposite Varun in Judwaa 2.

The ROCKING biz of #Judwaa2 hammers the fact that Studios/filmmakers need to make films for pan India audience, not for select cities/plexes
