New Delhi: Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 needed just a week to score above Rs 100 crore at the box office. On Friday, the film collected Rs 4.25 crore and its current total now stands at Rs 102.33 crore, trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports. Judwaa 2 is Varun's second release of the year after Badrinath Ki Dulhania and both the films scored above Rs 100 crore, Mr Adarsh tweeted. The overseas business of the film is also good and has earned Rs 26.33 crore. Judwaa 2 is a remake of Salman Khan's Judwaa, which released in 1997. Both the films are directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. "It's the THIRD 100 cr grosser for Fox Star Studios in 2017: #JollyLLB2, #BKD and now, #Judwaa2," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Judwaa 2 stars Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez opposite Varun. Actor Vivan Bhatena plays the prime antagonist Tiger in the film.

In his review for NDTV, film critic Raja Sen gave Judwaa 2 1.5 stars. "I like young Dhawan. I enjoy his work in movies as disparate as Badlapur and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, but in Judwaa 2 he isn't allowed to do his own thing. Instead, he's trying to match a marvellously inane Salman Khan performance. Varun Dhawan curbs his natural spontaneity to try and ape Salman Khan," he wrote.

Judwaa 2's box office numbers haven't been affected much by this week's major release Chef, starring Saif Ali Khan. The film got a low start on Friday.
