It's Javed Akhtar's birthday. The legendary screenwriter turns 80.
Tributes have been pouring in from all quarters to honour Javed Akhtar's legacy. But it was Farah Khan who came up with the most special wish.
The filmmaker shared a throwback video from a party on Instagram. In the clip, Javed Akhtar is seen dancing with Farah Khan. He displays amazing zeal and enthusiasm matching steps to the song Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. FYI: The track is from the Shah Rukh Khan-led film Duplicate featuring Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre. It was later remade for the movie Bad Newz.
Farah Khan's birthday message read, “Happy 80th birthday to the youngest guy in any room Javed Akhtar. Definitely dancing better than Shabana Azmi.”
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala wished Javed Akhtar a “happy birthday” in the comments section. Zoya Akhtar reacted by dropping a heart-eye and a heart emoji.
Guess who else wished the birthday boy? It was Anil Kapoor. He uploaded a series of pictures on Instagram with Javed Akhtar. The opening monochrome frame in the carousel shows Javed Akhtar presenting Anil Kapoor with an award.
Major highlight: A throwback gem capturing Javed Akhtar, his wife Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor. Javed Akhtar's son and actor-director Farhan Akhtar made an appearance in a separate snap.
In his side note, Anil Kapoor thanked Javed Akhtar for his “guidance and unwavering support.”
He wrote, “Happy 80th Birthday, Javed Saab! Your guidance and unwavering support have been pivotal in my journey as an actor. You believed in me when I could hardly believe in myself, and that encouragement has truly shaped the actor I am today. I will always be grateful for that.”
