Shahid Kapoor introduced us to Kabir Singh earlier this week and oh boy, he's a 24x7 angry chalta firta high functioning genius. Kabir Singh is basically a remake of the very popular Telugu film Arjun Reddy, in which the protagonist is a promising doctor with anger management issues - he drinks, he smokes and beats the pulp out of anyone when angry. In his new Instagram post, Shahid Kapoor cited Kabir Singh to explain the difference between a star and an actor. "As a star one is so conditioned to showcasing oneself at ones best. But as an actor one has to have the guts to show yourself at your worst. Kabir Singh in my blood. Hope you feel him too," he wrote.
Shahid Kapoor made a collage of a photo of himself and a still from Kabir Singh to drive home his point:
After the release of Kabir Singh's teaser, Shahid Kapoor received overwhelming responses from his colleagues for his portrayal of the Bollywood version of Arjun Reddy. His excitement spilled over to Twitter, when the actor wrote: "To all of you who have given such an overwhelming reaction to the Kabir Singh teaser. I am thankful from the bottom of my heart. Big love to you all. Keep it coming. Your love is the wind beneath my wings."
Shahid Kapoor's wife Mira Rajput had the best reaction to the Kabir Singh teaser: "Boom! Whattawowow."
Kabir Singh has been directed by Sandeep Vanga, who helmed the Telugu version of the movie. Kabir Singh is all set to hit screens on June 21 this year.
