Vidya Balan in Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh

A new song from upcoming thriller film Kahaani 2 released recently and it gives a glimpse into the life of protagonist Vidya Balan's life as Durga Rani Singh. From the trailer we know that Vidya's character in the film is leading a double life - that of Vidya Bagchi and Durga Rani Singh.
In Mehram, we see that Arjun Rampal, who plays sub-inspector Inderjeet, reading Vidya's diary through which he learns about her life as Durga Rani Singh. It seems rosy as Durga is attached to a young girl Mini, but she shares a slightly awkward relationship with Mini's father.
Mehram is set to a soulful composition by Clinton Cerejo and sung by Arijit Singh. Amitabh Bhattacharya has written the lyrics of the song.
Sujoy Ghosh-directed Kahaani 2 is the sequel to 2012 thriller which also featured Vidya in lead role. However, Sujoy said that the story of Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh is new and has nothing to do with the first film.
"When we set out to make this film, we made a very conscious decision not to have anything attached to Kahaani. We made a separate story; it has to be completely independent," he told IANS.
Kahaani 2 also stars Jugal Hansraj, Tota Roy Choudhury, Kharaj Mukherjee and Manini Chandha. The film is slated to release on December 2.
