In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin spoke about his equation with Prabhas. He said, "He really believed in the project from the get-go. He believed even when things were taking too long, even when things were hard. He always believed in my project and in my vision. Even though I was only two films old, he was the biggest cheerleader for the film. He would say, 'This is going to be massive, it's going to be bigger than everything.'"
"He was pumping us up because we needed it, but he really believed in it. There were times when we would sit and talk, and those pumps were what we needed to get through. He was fully on board with this film once he signed on," Nag Ashwin said.
According to Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD has been a success in theatres, collecting Rs 432.1 crore in India within just 9 days of its release. Kalki 2898 AD might become the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year during its theatrical run. Globally, it has emerged as the most successful Indian film of 2024.
While it remains to be seen if Kalki 2898 AD will join the ₹ 1000 crore club alongside films like Dangal (Rs 2070 crore), Baahubali 2 (Rs 1788 crore), RRR (Rs 1230 crore), KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), Jawan (Rs 1160 crore), and Pathaan (Rs 1055 crore), it is set to exceed the global collections of Shankar's 2.0 (Rs 744.78 crore) and Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (approximately ₹ 600 crore) after its seventh day.
