The suspense around the Karan Johar-produced and Karan Malhotra-directed Shuddhi is finally over. Salman Khan, who was initially signed for the project, is not doing the film anymore. Karan Johar has signed his trusted protegees Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt instead of Salman for the same.
He wrote on Twitter
It seems that the decision to replace Salman with Varun has everything to do with the uncertainty around Salman Khan's two pending court cases.
Salman, on his part, promptly congratulated Varun who has been churning out hit after hit ever since his debut in Student Of The Year.
The bonhomie continued with Varun responding with a tweet of his own
Varun Dhawan is definitely the flavour of the season. This time we are sure the much-hyped and much stalled Shuddhi will finally be made.
