Filmmaker and actor KamalHaasan said he is planning to do a Tamil movie in Karnataka ashe wants bilinguals to reach out to larger audience in thesouth.
"We are planning to do a movie. We want to do it inKarnataka. It is a Tamil movie which we are planning to do inKarnataka," he said at a programme organised by Press Club ofBangalore and Bangalore Reporters' Guild.
The movie featuring him would be directed by actor andhis friend Ramesh Aravind.
"I have always been telling Ramesh Aravind that weshould do bilinguals (Kannada and Tamil) now so that we areable to reach out all of Karnataka and rest of south (India)",he said.
Haasan said he does not like the idea of calling theentire film industry in India as "Bollywood".
"Actually, more than 50 per cent of films (of thetotal number in India) come from south of India and the filmindustry is known as one name -- Bollywood, which I think is amisnomer. It is (actually) Mumbai film industry," he said.
"Hollywood is a small village which becameinternational,and we are one big country and we should become international.My goal is Hollywood will shift to India if you work on it."
Haasan has completed the shooting schedule ofVishwaroopam 2, which is an espionage thriller written anddirected by him.
He also said that he had made the statement of"leaving the country" in the wake of initial ban ofVishwaroopam earlier this year out of anguish as he washurt.
"I will not take back that word. If I am threatened ortroubled again as an artiste, I can leave the country. But canthe country leave me?" Haasan said.
Earlier, Haasan announced that FICCI Media andEntertainment Business Conclave would be held in Bangalore onOctober 29 and 30, under his chairmanship.
"This year the focus of the conclave will be on theeffective proliferation of meaningful content in the backdropof digital technologies and the array of new media," he said.
"Traditional platforms have been disrupted and newmethods for the future need to be adopted in order to becreating and monetising content.
"For this, skill development for the industry needspecial discussion and a roadmap and the conclave has adedicated session on this apart from covering all sub-sectorsof the entertainment industry in its ambit," Haasan said.
