Kangana and Deepika photographed in Mumbai.
New Delhi:
Just a week ago, actress Kangana Ranaut described her equation with colleague Deepika Padukone as Katti Batti (also the name of her new film) at a press event in Mumbai. Questioned again about Deepika in an interview, Kangana has dismissed talk about the rumoured cold war as 'popcorn.' (Also Read - It is Katti Batti: Kangana on 'Cold War' With Deepika Padukone)
Kangana told Mumbai Mirror, "Deepika's a sweet girl but I have no personal equation with her. I've heard she's dedicated an award to me and called me for the Piku trial. I invited her to the screening of TWMR but she couldn't make it. That's it! Talk about us is harmless. I've had far more harmful charges levelled against me. This is just popcorn."
Reports of frosty relations between the actresses surfaced after Kangana allegedly complained that Deepika was one of the few stars who hadn't congratulated her on her performance in Queen. Later, Deepika is believed to have called Kangana who told Hindustan Times that: "Deepika called me, and clarified that she had no personal equation with me to make a direct call (to appreciate her performance in Queen). Also, I explained to her how it would have been unjust for me to publicly acknowledge an award from her when I have decided not to attend any awards functions. It was an emotional and heartfelt conversation. I appreciate that she called me; she is truly courteous and very emotional, and I just love that."
Just recently, Kangana was spotted at a party that Deepika hosted in Mumbai to celebrate the success of her film Piku. Despite the invitation and its acceptance, it appears that there is still no 'personal equation' between the two actresses, currently occupying the top berths at the box office.
