If you remember, Kangana has rejected a Salman Khan-movie in the past
New Delhi:
Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with the period piece Manikarnika but has plans about her upcoming projects chalked out already. Next up for Kangana will reportedly be a murder mystery and as per the makers, the title of which is best suited to be 'Mental', reported mid-day. Both Kangana and producer Shailesh R Singh reportedly approached Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association to seal the deal only to find that the title is already booked for a Salman Khan film and that Salman's production house has already acquired the copyright. A source told mid-day that the title 'Mental' was booked years ago for what later released as Tubelight.
"Salman's team had registered the title a few years back when they were toying with the idea of naming Kabir Khan's then under-production film, Mental. However, they later changed it to Tubelight," mid-day quoted the source as saying.
The team of Kangana's new film have also asked the actress to put in a request with the 52-year-old superstar for clearing the title, reported mid-day. "At the moment, there's no project that could use the title. Unless Bhai has something in mind, he will allow Shaileshji to go ahead with it," the source added.
If you remember, Kangana had rejected a Salman Khan-movie in the past. She was offered Sultan, which she let go of because she "didn't see anything for me in that." Talking to PTI earlier this year, she said: "Coming from a double role space and doing so much more in my earlier films, I didn't want to demote myself to something which wasn't offering me so much. That's why I didn't do it." Kangana was fresh from the success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Salman is also the reason Kangana Ranaut considered playing the female lead in Katti Batti.
Kangana Ranaut's next film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is expected to wrap soon. Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Simranand in Rangoon before that - both 2017 releases.
