When asked about it, the Comedy Nights With Kapil frontman said: "I don't know where this news came from. First of all I want to clarify that I was not present at the award function. I don't know who made a mountain out of a mole-hill. I believe everyone is like me, who loves everybody. But there are some people who made this news."

Kapil addressed the query about the issue at an event where he was feted as the PETA Person of the Year Award.
