On his father Yash Johar's 85th birth anniversary, filmmaker Karan Johar reminisced how he used to always give precedence to relationships over movies. He says it's a "tall order" to follow.

Yash Johar, who died in 2004, founded Dharma Productions in 1976. He produced films likeDostana (1981), Agneepath (1990), Hum (1991), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003).
He launched Karan as a director with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Karan has successfully taken on the legacy of the Dharma Productions banner and has delivered several successful entertainers as a producer and director.
