Karan Johar is yet to reveal much about the film with Ranbir Kapoor
Mumbai:
After producing two of his films, filmmaker Karan Johar will be now directing actor Ranbir Kapoor in a film next year.
Johar has produced Ranbir in Wake Up Sid(2009) and the recently released Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Both the films had a successful run at box office and the duo will be now teaming up again for a film, which will be directed by Johar.
"It is true Karan will be directing Ranbir. And the film is likely to go on the floors early next year," according to a source.
As of now, it is not clear if it will be Johar's much-talked about period film. A love story set in Lahore during partition, the project was reportedly very dear to his late father Yash Johar.
On his part, Ranbir will complete Abhinav Kashyap's Besharam first and then he is likely to begin shooting in July for Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, which will have Johar playing the antagonist.
