His next film as a director, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is expected to release this Diwali. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

"My primary passion is to direct films and I want to make one film every two years because my gaps become longer. I think, next year, I need to do some adjustments so that I can direct many films. I am not getting any younger and I feel that I need to leave an archive of many movies behind," said Karan.

Karan attended the launch of India's Got Talent. Along with Karan, the show is judged by actresses Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan.

Malaika said that the show is different from other reality shows as it is an amalgamation of various talents.
