Kareena Kapoor is a self-confessed foodie and she attributes her love for food to her Kapoor genes. "It's a family thing," she said during Tweak India's The Icons podcast. During the conversation with host Twinkle Khanna, Kareena Kapoor talked about life, parenthood, career and of course food. During the interaction, Twinkle Khanna asked Kareena about the time she introduced her "vegetarian boyfriend" to father Randhir Kapoor. Twinkle reminded Kareena of the incident and said, "There's this apocryphal tale where you wanted to introduce a boyfriend to your dad. And you said, Daddy, this is my new boyfriend, let's go for dinner and he said, Beta, Dum Pukht chalte hai. And then you said, 'Daddy, he's vegetarian.' And he said, 'Koi baat nahi beta wo driver ke saath khana khayega' (no worries, he can eat with the driver)."
For the uninitiated Dum Pukht is a restaurant popular for its non-vegetarian delicacies. An embarrassed Kareena Kapoor, without revealing the identity of her ex-boyfriend,said this, "What do I say, you know how they are, what do I say? You know how they are, about their food, about their paya."
During the fun chat, Kareena Kapoor also talked about husband Saif Ali Khan's love for food and cooking. She revealed that the actor loves to make roast chicken. He also makes spaghetti for son Taimur. Kareena added that Saif isn't fussy about food and cherishes dal chawal the most.
Just in case Kareena Kapoor's love for food wasn't evident enough, here's a look at some of her Instagram posts, dedicated to food:
