New Delhi: Actress Karisma Kapur will flag off the Pinkathon 2012 run to raise awareness about breast cancer.
It is scheduled to take place in Mumbai Dec 16.
Pinkathon 2012 is a women's run, conducted in association with the Women's Cancer Initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer. It is being conducted for the first time in Mumbai under three categories - 10 kms, 5 kms and 3 kms.
"I am really happy to be flagging off the Pinkathon. I think it is very important for women to know about breast cancer. If detected early, it is extremely curable and there is life beyond that," Karisma said in a statement.
"As a woman, I am really proud of being a part of this initiative and I hope to see all women out there on the 16th," added the 38-year-old.
