Mumbai:
After dabbling in films and television, actress Karisma Kapur has now turned radio jockey (RJ), and will host a special segment on a famous FM station. She says she just wanted to try a new medium.
Karisma will turn into an RJ for a special segment "BIG Memsaab" from December 24 to March 24 for the radio station.
"This is a totally new avenue, something I have never done. I am lucky enough I had a career for a long period of time. Like I said, I have done films, television, I also have a portal, so why not radio! It's something new and different for me to do," she said on Tuesday at the launch of her show.
The 38-year-old made her film debut in 1991 with Prem Qaidi and worked with big banners but decided to quit Bollywood after her marriage in 2003.
Karisma's show is going to be about fashion and style.
"It's not about standing out, it's like I wanted to do something new. I have got opportunities to do something on different platforms, why not radio. I think over the years people have appreciated my style. So, here I am getting an entire show based on style and where I can help women across India," she said.
Karisma, who made a comeback to films this year with Dangerous Isshq, will soon start shooting for the remake of Satte Pe Satta.
