Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor were pictured together at a party last night in Mumbai. Karan Johar was also pictured arriving at the party. Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor's reunion garnered the Internet's attention after their project Dostana 2 was shelved, back in 2001.
For the night, Janhvi Kapoor wore a black dress while Kartik Aaryan was dressed in his casual best. However, Janhvi and Kartik didn't pose together for the shutterbugs. Take a look at the pictures from the night:
In December last year, Karan Johar announced a new film featuring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, seemingly putting their rumoured feud to rest.
The filmmaker shared an announcement video on Instagram confirming his collaboration with Kartik. Titled Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, the film is touted to be a romantic comedy. It will open to theatres in 2026.
Meanwhile, Dharma Productions shared an official announcement in 2001 mentioning the recasting of the much-hyped project Dostana 2. The statement read, "Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain dignified silence - we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon (sic)."
Following the announcement, rumours of rift between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan surfaced though the actor and the director tried to maintain silence on the subject in all these years. Even when Kartik was asked about the rift by journalists, he tried to evade the questions. Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan were supposed to headline the film.
Later, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar hit the headlines when they shared the stage at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023.
