The reboot of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the show which made actress Shweta Tiwari a household name, is all set to hit the small screen come September. Shweta, who played the show's protagonist Prerna, told Hindustan Times that her daughter Palak Tiwari was offered the role but it did materialise because Palak doesn't want to focus on television shows for now. "I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (Ekta Kapoor's production house) that she should do it. It was she who said 'No Mom, I don't think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time'," Shweta was quoted as saying. In Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, actress Erica Fernandes has filled Shweta Tiwari's shoes.
Shweta also told Hindustan Times that Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 is not the only show Palak has rejected. Palak told Shweta that at the moment she doesn't want to do television shows but she may take it up later.
Palak Tiwari is a bona fide celebrity on social media with over 2 lakh followers on Instagram. She regularly updates her Instafam with pictures from her photoshoots. It was reported that Palak had signed a Bollywood film opposite actor Darsheel Safary (Taare Zameen Par) but there hasn't been an update on that project.
Palak is Shweta's daughter with her first husband Raja Chaudhary and she is currently focused in completing her schooling. Shweta Tiwari told Hindustan Times when Palak was offered a role in her upcoming play Jab We Seperated she turned it down saying "she just doesn't want to divert herself from class 12th studies; otherwise she would have done it."
Meanwhile, the final cast of Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, starting from September, hasn't been announced yet. The show reportedly featured Parth Samarth as Anurag and actress Hina Khan as Komolika.
