New Delhi:
Kate Middleton's wardrobe of breezy dresses has been a major headline-spinner for the press covering her week-long visit to India and Bhutan with husband Prince William. What would she wear, many wanted to know - and especially, what would she wear to the Taj Mahal? Here's what she wore - Naeem Khan.
The Taj Mahal is the final stop for Will and Kate and is a particularly evocative occasion because of Will's late mother Princess Diana's solo trip in 1992. A photograph of her seated alone on a bench in front of the Taj Mahal made the front page of newspapers across the globe and was seen as emblematic of Diana's troubled marriage to Prince Charles. They divorced in 1996. (In Pics: Best of Kate Middleton's India-Bhutan Outfits)
The same "Diana seat" on the central pool was repaired and the staircase was given a fresh coat of paint for Will and Kate.
Kate Middleton's other outfits in India and Bhutan included paisley-print Alexander McQueen, an Anita Dongre tunic, a Jenny Packham gown beaded in India, two dresses each by Emilia Wickstead and Alice Temperly, a TopShop dress that sold out instantly after she wore it and a skirt made of Bhutanese fabric.
While in India, Will and Kate played cricket with Sachin Tendulkar, met actors and industrialists, lunched with Prime Minister Modi, visited Gandhi Smriti and went on safari in Kaziranga.
