Kate Moss's much talkedabout engagement ring has a literary connection. The sparkleris a copy of the one with which legendary American authorF.Scott Fitzgerald proposed to wife Zelda Fitzgerald.
The British model considers Zelda an icon and herfiance rocker Jamie Hince spent months hunting for theoriginal diamond ring owned by the 1920's hell raisingsocialite.
When he failed to track down the original he called ona museum in Alabama, who sent sketches so he could get ajeweller to copy it, reported Sun online.
Moss, 36, who is set to walk down the aisle for thefirst time, is fascinated by Zelda and Scott, who wrote herfavourite book, 'The Beautiful And The Damned' and 'The GreatGatsby'.
The couple were some of the most prominent members ofthe 'Jazz age' party scene and were infamous for theiralcohol-fuelled shenanigans.
"Jamie went to great lengths to bowl Kate over withthe ring. It couldn't be any old sparkler, and he knows howfascinated she is by Zelda. Kate had mentioned the ring beforeas Zelda had talked about it in her diary," said a sourceclose to the couple.
The model is even planning to tie the knot in Paris,which was a favourite of the Fitzgeralds.
"She knows Zelda spent a lot of time there and, in thespirit of the ring, Kate is talking about having the wholewedding themed around the 1920s. She wants a vintage gown andan old-fashioned hotel like the Ritz in Paris is the kind ofvenue she has in mind," added the source.
