Los Angeles:
The 35-year-old actress ditched the male model for Ned Abel Smith, the nephew of Sir Richard Branson, when they met while she was on what should have been a romantic holiday with Louis on the business mogul's Caribbean hideaway on Necker Island this summer.
However, the Burberry hunk has admitted the Oscar-winning star didn't treat him well by jetting off to New York with Ned immediately after their break-up.
He said: "I don't think Kate behaved well and it is still very raw for me. I was in love with her and you can't switch that off overnight. I'm not sure Kate treated me well."
Louis is trying not to dwell on the split, but he thought the couple were "inseparable" and admitted he still holds a torch for the Reader star.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Kate came home with me to Cornwall and we just hung out together. She met my parents and family.
"I thought we were inseparable. I certainly haven't found anyone else since. I don't want to go into details but it wasn't a straightforward break-up. I'm a laid-back guy, so I am not walking around with a long face -- but I do still hold a torch for her."
As well as Kate calling time on her relationship with Louis during their Caribbean break, she also carried Sir Richard Branson's 90-year-old mother Eve to safety from a blazing inferno that swept through the island and destroyed the Virgin businessman's home.
