Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's wedding festivities have begun at Six Senses Resort, Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Visuals of the fort lit up at night have gone viral. The mehendi and sangeet will be followed by a haldi ceremony and a sehrabandi before the pheras. The mehendi took place yesterday and the sangeet will be held tonight. Veena Nagda, mehendi artist to the stars, is trending after sharing an Instagram Story that the Internet has been quick to draw conclusions from. Katrina and Vicky's wedding guests flew into Jaipur yesterday - they include Kabir Khan and Mini Mathur, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, Sharvari Wagh, Radhika Madan, and director Vijay Krishna Acharya with his wife. Guests are banned from taking their mobile phones to the wedding venue and there is also a no-photo sharing policy in place. Performers at the sangeet include Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan and Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. The henna for the mehendi has been sourced from Sojat in Rajasthan and costs between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh. Katrina Kaif's wedding looks are being styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, who flew into Jaipur on Monday - Katrina wore a yellow Anamika Khanna sharara set as her travel outfit. She was accompanied on the flight by mother Suzanne Turquotte; her sisters, including Isabelle and Natasha, flew separately.

Wedding guests at Six Senses Resort, Fort Barwara will feast on mithai supplied by a shop called Janta Jodhpur in Sawai Madhopur. Some 8 to 10 types of sweets are on the menu, including laddoos and pista bites.

Farah Khan and Karan Johar shared this hilarious clip of themselves dancing to Bole Chudiyan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham - which is in its 20th year - and the Internet is losing it. Not because KJo looks so very KJo-like in an OTT jacket and massive sunglasses. Not because Farah Khan is killing us with her rose petals and hippy hippy shake - but because the action takes place in a hotel room and the Internet thinks it could well be a hotel room in Six Senses Resort, Fort Barwara.
Unlikely, we imagine, given that neither Karan Johar nor Farah Khan have been spotted anywhere near Jaipur and it's entirely possible, indeed probable, they are in a hotel or a set for new film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. But who are we to rain on the Internet's parade?

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's guest list - MIA
At least two filmmakers who have worked with Katrina are at the wedding - Kabir Khan directed her in films like New York and Ek Tha Tiger, and Vijay Krishna Acharya in Dhoom 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan. Not at the wedding is Katrina's Sooryavanshi director Rohit Shetty who is believed to be in Ooty prepping to film Cirkus with Ranveer Singh
Also not at the wedding is Salman Khan, Katrina's co-star in several films, most recently Bharat - his absence is glaring because Katrina Kaif is supposedly very close to his family. None of the Khan-daan have been invited, Salman's sister Arpita said recently and, indeed, none have been spotted at Jaipur airport.
Salman will be in Saudi Arabia with his Da-Bangg The Tour Reloaded this week - it is scheduled for December 10 in Riyadh

Sangeet and mehendi update
In the run-up to the wedding, the sangeet and mehendi dates reported were December 7 and December 8 respectively. However, it was the mehendi that took place yesterday and the sangeet is scheduled for this evening. A haldi ceremony also took place followed by an open-air lunch for wedding guests, about 120 in number

The Internet noticed today that the spouse information on the Wikipedia pages for both Katrina and Vicky have been changed to reflect each other's names. The couple were reportedly meant to have a court marriage in Mumbai last week but if they did, they kept it as hush-hush as everything else about their wedding. No official announcement has been made unless this Wiki change is their subtle way to letting us know.
The Wikipedia pages have only partly been updated - the Personal Life sections say 'Katrina is to marry Vicky' and vice versa

Katrina and Vicky's mehendi - That a helluva lot of henna
There are 120 guests at Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's wedding and both ladkiwale and baraatis will be involved in the mehendi ceremony (which may or may not have already taken place)
The henna is chemical-free and specially sourced from Sojat in Rajasthan. 20 kilos of henna powder and 400 cones are being used for the ceremony, reports news agency PTI
That's a lot of mehendi. Also, it costs between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh but the business supplying the henna will reportedly not charge Katrina and Vicky
