New Delhi: Actress Alia Bhatt is pleased that the hard work she put into her bikini scene for Shaandaar is earning her praise. She is particularly thrilled by actress Katrina Kaif's seal of approval.
"I was with Katrina the other day, and she told me, 'I really liked that (the bikini sequence)'. And I was like, 'Now if Katrina Kaif has liked my bikini shot, then I have nothing to worry about'. That validation made me very happy," Alia told Hindustan Times. Katrina, who wore a bikini in her very first movie Boom, ought to know.
The 22-year-old actress trained hard for her appearance in the pink two-piece and while the 'validation' from Katrina matters, haters beware - she's just happy she scored a bikini scene at all.(Also Read: Alia Bhatt Worked Hard to Make Bikini Scene Shaandaar)
"I was just happy that I got to wear a bikini. I probably don't even have the perfect body type for it. But I was like, 'whatever little recognition I will get for it, I will be happy'. And I have got that. I didn't do it for any other reason. I still believe that I haven't reached my peak (in terms of fitness). That won't happen for a while because I am still in training mode. I have been training hard for the past year or two. But as and when my bikini pictures come out and people love it, I become very happy," she told Hindustan Times.
Produced by Phantom Films and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Shaandaar is directed by Vikas Bahl and co-stars Shahid Kapoor as Alia's love interest. It also features Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Kapoor, Shibani Dandekar and Anjana Sukhani.
Shaandaar is scheduled to release on October 22.
