A mail from Katrina’s representative denied she has bought a flat.
Mumbai:
A little over three years ago, MiD DAY had revealed that veteran actor Dev Anand's bungalow at Pali Hill would be turned into a high rise. If you now visit the site that was once 'Anand' -- the actor's recording studio -- you will be greeted by heaps of debris and the structure of a skyscraper sprouting out of them. And sources said that potential buyers are already making overtures. Among those interested in acquiring a flat in the high rise is reportedly Bollywood heartthrob Katrina Kaif.
Anand -- a landmark on Zigzag Road of Pali Hill - was brought down when the evergreen actor was alive, as his son wanted to have a swank studio with modern amenities. This was way back in 2009. But yesterday, a public notice proclaimed that sale of five flats along with a car park in the building are being negotiated. The parleys are being headed on the marketer's side by Suneil Anand, son of Dev Anand.
"We are very close to completion of the project. A studio would be there just as we had planned," Suneil told MiD DAY. He also confirmed that deals were taking place, but refused to say more about the project.
According to a real estate agent from Bandra, apart from the studio the building will mostly comprise huge 3-BHK flats and the rates would be competitive. "The structure is at a height, has a sea view, and is at a prime location. It's one of the most sought-after projects at the moment," said the broker.
Another realty agent from Bandra confirmed that flats are being sold in the building. He added, "I hear Katrina visited the building last week and said she liked it."
"For the past few years Katrina has been attempting to move to Pali Hill from her Waterfield Road home, where she currently resides. On her wish list is a spacious sea-facing apartment," he added.
Suneil Anand has collaborated with a developer for the construction of the project. Meanwhile, a mail from Katrina's representative denied she has bought a flat. The spokesperson said, "There's no truth to the reports that Katrina has purchased any property anywhere recently. To put an end to the speculation, Katrina has not bought any real estate, nor does she plan to."
Pride and joy
