Pop star Katy Perry is currently intalks with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein for a possible role inhis upcoming biopic on Britain's Got Talent star Paul Potts.
Weinstein's film company is producing a film about theformer Carphone Warehouse salesman, who leaped to fame when hewon the first series of BGT in 2007, reported Daily Mailonline.
The producer admitted he had spoken to Perry aboutpossibly playing Potts' wife Julie-Ann in the film.
"I was talking to Katy about a new project, a possibledramatic role in the Paul Potts movie, which will be shootingin England soon. We would really like someone like Katy orAdele to play the role of Potts' wife, and Katy seemedgenuinely interested," Weinstein said.
The film, entitled One Chance, will be directed byDavid Frankel, who helmed The Devil Wears Prada.
Weinstein and Frankel are currently in secretnegotiations with a British actor to play Gloucs-born Potts.
The Kissed A Girl hitmaker Perry filmed what would havebeen her big screen debut in Get Him To The Greek in 2009,but her cameo was edited. However, last year, she voicedSmurfette in animated film The Smurfs.
