Pop star Katy Perry says she almostlanded a small role in The Help but her recording scheduleforced her to turn it down.
The 27-year-old, who made her acting debut in US TVcomedy How I Met Your Mother, was in talks for a part inthe Oscar-nominated film opposite Emma Stone and Viola Davis,reported Daily Star.
"There was a time when I was going to be involved in TheHelp - just a small part; I wasn't going to be Emma Stone oranything - but I couldn't because the shooting scheduleconflicted with the release of my record.
"I was upset about that; I knew it was going to be animportant film. Not that I need to do drama first, but I dowant to do something that makes a strong impression," Perrysaid.
The singer refused to speculate on what role she may havebeen offered or whether it was played by someone else in thefilm.
