New Delhi:
As soon as Amitabh Bachchan delivered his opening monologue welcoming tele-viewers and studio audience to a new episode Kaun Banega Crorepati on October 11, the audience in the studio sang the birthday song for Big B, which made him blush. But without much ado, he started the game with Dr Sonali Reddy, who started from the fourth question having played the previous three questions in Tuesday night's episode. Dr Reddy crossed the first milestone securing Rs 10,000 minimum prize money after using her second lifeline - Phone A Friend. Dr Reddy took home Rs 3,60,000.
When talking about Dr Reddy's personal experience, Mr Bachchan recalled a moment from a difficult time in his life, when he was injured while filming Coolie. Mr Bachchan narrated an incident when Abhishek was told in school by a student that his father is going to die. Big B said that Abhishek, who was very young at that time, was extremely disturbed and had to be reassured by him and Jaya Bachchan.
On Amitabh Bachchan's birthday, the showrunners paid tribute to the 75-year-old star by taking viewers to his Sherwood College, Nainital. The administrator told audience that Big B's batch was an integral part in the construction of the swimming pool there. The current batch of students and teachers also sang the birthday song for Amitabh Bachchan, which made him extremely emotional. He was in tears and took some time to gather himself and carry on with the game. "I never expected this," said Amitabh Bachchan. Mr Bachchan regaled audience with many stories from his college days.
Back to the game show - The second contestant to play on Wednesday was Yogesh Shah, who crossed the first milestone of the show within minutes and with the help of one life line - Audience Poll.
Here are the types of questions (from science, to general knowledge and entertainment) you can expect to face on the Hot Seat, if you're planning to participate in Kaun Banega Crorepati:
#1 Which animal is the carrier of H1N1 virus?
#2 What is commonly used term used to describe the Muslim ethic community of the Rakhine State of Myanmar?
#3 Which dance form derives its name from a Sanskrit word which means beauty?
#4 Which of the following film personalities is a father of twins?
The show ended on a musical note with a medley of Big B's famous songs being played on the sitar. Yogen Shah's game will continue on Thursday.
