Mumbai: Debutante filmmaker Kiran Rao is getting nervous as the release date of her movie Dhobi Ghat is approaching but also getting comfort by the thought that her actor-producer husband Aamir Khan is standing by her.
Speaking about her frame of mind before embarking on the film shoot, she said she needed not just a trusting, supportive producer and an able actor, but someone who could stand by her when she had to make toughest decisions or just to listen to her when she realised that she had made the wrong ones.
"Aamir and I stayed together on set and made it our home. I woke him up and made sure he was ready for work on time and he saw to it that I stopped working at some point and got some sleep. I argued with him and he fought with me. I often took his advice and he always trusted me. Today, two and half years after I started my journey, I have a film that's ready. I am extremely nervous. But I know he's standing right by me," Kiran said speaking on her experiences.
The film starring Aamir, Prateik Babbar releases on January 21.
