During the first episode of Koffee With Karan 7, Karan Johar introduced a new segment called the 'Koffee Bingo,' as a part of which the guests (Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh) had to strike off the pointers that they agreed with. When Ranveer Singh ticked on "got rejected for a role" column, Karan Johar asked him if he was referring to the box office debacle Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, the actor clarified that he was "not rejected" but "unceremoniously dropped." Ranveer Singh said during the show: "I was not rejected for Bombay Velvet. I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time, I couldn't justify the budget. My star value wasn't as high.
