Karan Johar is excited, as are his fans. After all, the latest season of Koffee With Karan is premiering tonight with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt coming together for the first episode. Ahead of the maiden episode, Karan has shared the promo once again on Instagram, along with a short note. In it, he gives his viewers the freedom to “love and troll” the show that is popular and controversial in equal measure. In the caption, Karan wrote, “It's on tonight. Dropping at 7 pm. The 7th season. The 7th of July.” He further added, “Watch it my friends and Rock Roll Love and Troll…From my heart to your Disney Plus Hotstar screen. Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt in the house.”
In the video, Alia Bhatt also refers to Ranveer Singh as "Pammi". Addressing producer Pammi Bakshi Gautam in the caption, Karan Johar further added, “No reference to you Pammi, my darling Pammi Bakshi Gautam, just making you more famous! Love you.”
Now, let's get to the promo video itself. Karan Johar introduces his guests Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as "two happily married people, just not to each other."
This is followed by Alia Bhatt declaring that she and her Gully Boy co-star are "sakhis" (friends). Then, she even goes on to referring to him as Pammi. Why she does this will be revealed only in the episode.
That's not all. Alia Bhatt is also asked with whom she has better "on-screen chemistry" - Ranveer Singh or Varun Dhawan. And, going by Ranveer's reaction he was not very pleased with the answer.
While on the sets of the show, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh also recreated an iconic scene from Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, originally featuring Kajol's character Anjali and Farida Jalal's Sayeeda mimicking their neighbours.
Karan Johar shared the video on Wednesday on the occasion of Ranveer Singh's birthday. In the caption, he said, “It's our Rocky's rocking birthday and to make it even more special, we have his Rani by our side!” adding details about the show

This season, celebrities such as Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, among others, will be seen on the show.
