Relatives of the basketball player have claimed that Kris Humphries, 28, is determined to get an annulment - rather than just a divorce - because the wedding was a cynical ploy to boost ratings of Kim's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
London:
The 72-day marriage of KimKardashian and Kris Humphries will be blown apart when theHollywood divorce trial kicks off in May with claims that thewedding was a sham.
Relatives of the basketball player have claimed thatHumphries, 28, is determined to get an annulment - rather thanjust a divorce - because the wedding was a cynical ploy toboost ratings of Kim's reality show Keeping Up With TheKardashians.
Since Kim, 32, dumped the Brooklyn Nets star in October2011 his family have kept a dignified silence.
But his aunt Dedria has now said, "It was a sham. Myunderstanding of marriage is people are going to give it morethan 72 days unless there's serious abuse."
"If I felt somebody had duped me and used me in front ofthe whole world, I would be very angry," she added.
If the marriage is annulled, Humphries could argue thatthe pre-nuptial agreement was not legitimate - and he would befreed from the confidentiality clause which prevents him frompublicly shaming his ex-wife.
"An annulment says it wasn't valid in the first place. She should admit that it was a sham at the very least," saidDedria.
Dedria and her husband Mike were among 36 Humphriesrelatives who spent a fortune travelling across the US toattend the lavish wedding in Santa Barbara, California, whichwas followed by a honeymoon in Italy.
