Mumbai:
Actor Kunal Khemu, who will soon be seen in the adult comedy Guddu Ki Gun, said that he consulted his wife, actress Soha Ali Khan before signing the film.
Kunal said that he had initially refused to do the project.
"Actually I said no to the project right at the beginning. If you hear the one line concept, you would think it might turn in the wrong direction and embarrassing. But then I read the script and was intrigued by it. It wasn't embarrassing but a very intelligently written film," Kunal told PTI.

"I thought maybe I am feeling like this because I am a guy. So I wanted to get a woman's perspective on this. I asked Soha to read the script. She too had inhibitions initially. But then she read it and laughed. She said that it wasn't offensive at all, at least on the script level. If you believe in it, you should go ahead with it," added Kunal.
The film also stars Bengali actress Payel Sarkar who will make her debut in Bollywood with the film.
Kunal added that the film does not objectify women.
"It is a unisex comedy as for the first time we have objectified a male and not a woman. It is a film where girls can go in a gang and enjoy. We will also have a special screening for women. We haven't made jokes at their expense," said Kunal.
Guddu Ki Gun will release on October 30.
