Kushal Punjabi, seen on the small screen as well as in bit roles in films like "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal" and "Salaam-E-Ishq", won Imagine TV's reality show "Zor Ka Jhatka", hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, in the grand finale Friday.
Kushal walked away with a grand sum of Rs.5 million, as the show came to an end after four weeks of providing light entertainment through unusual water-based adventures.
The show was in the news primarily because of the big ticket host - superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who gave running commentary during the episodes. Actress Saumya Tandon played the role of co-host to King Khan.
"Zor Ka Jhatka", an Indian version of internationally popular "Wipeout!", started with 28 contestants, who were taken out of their comfort zone to battle it out in an obstacle course set in Argentina.
The participants on the show included an eclectic mix of celebrities like Akashdeep Saigal, Amit Sareen, Ashima Bhalla, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Claudia Ciesla, Debina Bonnerjee, Gaurav Chopraa, Jennifer Winget, Karishma Tanna, Kushal Punjabi, Narayani Shastri, Natasha Suri, Payal Rohatgi, Priyadarshani Singh, Raja Chaudhary, Dimpy Mahajan, Rohit Verma, Simran Kaur Mundi among others.
The finale started with a fight between 15 contestants for the prize money. Thereafter, four contestants - Claudia Ciesla, Kushal Punjabi, Captain Albert and Jai Bhagwan - made their way to the deciding round of the "Wipeout Zone", where the winner was finally announced.
The special guests for the evening included loud-mouthed Dolly Bindra and Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, who even shook a leg with Shah Rukh.
To add humour, contestants were given funny awards under the category of "Ram Lal Foundation Award" for Manoranjan award which was given to Priyadarshani Singh, "Running Commentary" which was given to Sonika Kaliraman, and the "Haste Zakhm" to Dimpy Mahajan.
