Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor's Laal Singh Chaddha is making a lot of noise, and for all the right reasons. From gracing reality shows to social media campaigns, the Laal Singh Chaddha team is putting their best foot forward in creating buzz around the film. Now, a hashtag Laal Ko Jaano was released by the makers today. And what we got to know is that “when it comes to unconditional love, Laal knows all about it.” Accompanying the hashtag was a video that gives a glimpse of Laal and Rupa's love story. The clip opens with the definition of unconditional love. Next, it states how - “from childhood sweethearts to young lovers. From distance and hardships to being together” - Laal's love for Rupa is neverending.
Have a look:
Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan have appeared on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 7. During the show, Aamir revealed that Kareena was not the first choice for Rupa's character in Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir said that he and the director of the film, Advait Chandan, were watching an ad, which featured Kareena and another actress, who they were primarily considering casting. But in the end, the role landed with Kareena. Aamir Khan said, "Advait and I were watching and that girl was also very good but when we saw Kareena in that, we were lost in Kareena. Both of us looked at each other and we said Kareena. We didn't think of her originally because we thought 25. We were stuck in that 25 which was a stupid thing. She too can get de-ageing with me and whatever is required and I'm so glad we saw that ad because I cannot imagine anyone else in this role other than Kareena.”
We also got to know that Kareena Kapoor, for the first time in her 22-year-long career, gave a screen test. The actress confessed that she was hesitant and nervous about the test, but it was her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan who convinced her to give it a shot. Kareena said, “It was not an ego it was just I'd never done it before, so I was nervous. And when I told Saif, he said I think it's really cool. You should do it. And I said ya actually what the hell! What will happen? He'll say it didn't work. So, it's fine. I said it was Aamir. And if I'd do it. It'll be for Aamir.”
Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' classic Forrest Gump. Slated to release on August 11, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Mona Singh. Naga Chaitanya, who will be making his Bollywood debut with this movie, will essay the role of Aamir Khan's best friend.
