Lady Gaga promised a "special" treat for her Indian fans and didn't she just do that! The international pop icon played the piano and matched the tunes to a sitar during her performance at the finale F1 after-party.
"Gaga's performance was delightful. She was high on energy and the audience was extremely excited about it. The stage was grand and Gaga was in her spirits," said a teenager, who saw Gaga perform at a special 20,000 sq ft construction at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida.
The party was hosted by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and restaurateur AD Singh's lounge-bar LAP here Sunday night (October 30, 2011).
Gaga had said at a press conference that her performance would have some Indian influence. And she kept her promise.
Dressed in a white, knee-length dress with open, blonde locks, Gaga collaborated with a sitar player to offer some fusion music to the guests. She also sang some of her popular hits as well as new songs from her latest album Born This Way, according to a party insider.
She ended her performance with a warm and cheerful Namaste India, said a source.
Prior to the performance, Arjun told reporters that Gaga had rehearsed for six hours for the show.
"We have the best performer in the house for the party! I saw her rehearsals and she has prepared the best. She has planned a nice single which she has never performed before. It's from her new album and she especially prepared for her fans here. She will also sing with a sitar player to add some Indian element," Arjun said before the party kicked off.
Even actor Chunky Pandey, who caught some bits of the rehearsals, said: "She has planned a fantastic show. I saw her rehearsals, and she is very professional. She has planned a fusion."
Gaga's show was houseful despite a whopping ticket price of Rs.40,000. It was a star-studded party with actors and industrialists. Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan to Vijay Mallya, Adi Godrej and Munjals, among others, attended the party and stayed till late.
