Pop diva Lady Gaga has drawnflak from disability organisations for using a wheelchair asher stage prop during a recent performance.
The 25-year-old singer, with a black shroud drapedover her head, wheeled herself onstage at Sydney's town hallhalfway through her hour-long show.
And the gimmick has been slammed by fans, somedisability organizations and advocacy groups, reported RadarOnline.
"I haven't seen Lady Gaga's performance, but respecther artistic expression as an artist. Since this isn't thefirst time she has used a wheelchair in her performances, Iinvite her to learn more about the 5.6 million Americans wholive with paralysis. They, like me, unfortunately, don't use awheelchair for shock value," said Jesse Billauer, Founder ofthe Life Rolls On Foundation.
"I extend a personal invitation to Lady Gaga to attendone of our Life Rolls On events where quadriplegics andparaplegics surf, skate, and snowboard, so she can see howmuch is possible beyond a wheelchair," Billauer added.
