Mumbai:
Bollywood actor Laila Khan and her siblings may have been murdered by her stepfather because they witnessed the killing of their mother, Celina.
Bits and pieces of different skeletons were founds at the farmhouse owned by Laila near Mumbai on Tuesday night; the police believes these are the remains of the starlet and her family, who disappeared in February last year.
They will be matched against DNA samples from Laila's biological father, Nadir Patel.
Police sources believe that Parvez Tak, who was Celina's third husband, was upset about her close relationship to her second husband, a builder Asif Sheikh. They say that in a fit of rage, Tak murdered Celina at the farmhouse after she told him that she wanted Sheikh to be the caretaker of the two flats Laila and she owned in Mumbai along with their farmhouse in nearby Igatpuri.
Laila and her three siblings, as well as another relative, had accompanied Tak and Celina to the farmhouse for a vacation. After Celina shared her plans about her property, Tak allegedly killed her. Then, the police says, he murdered her children.
It was Tak who led the police to the bodies at the farmhouse. He was arrested a few weeks ago in Jammu in connection with another case, and then taken back to Mumbai by the city police.
The police say they are looking for evidence to prove their theory. Till then, they will examine other possibilities for the murders too.
