The flagship label was launched in Mumbai last nightby the melody queen herself, alongwith veteran musician PtJasraj, Neeta Ambani and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
"With changes taking place in the music scenario andwith the focus on melody gradually fading away, I have reducedwork in films. All through my career I wished to do morenon-film recordings but due to film commitments, I couldn't,"Lata Mangeshkar said.

"In recent years music industry has faced somechallenges and existing music labels have been lessforthcoming in releasing non-film albums. The few that weremade faced many restrictions of content, disparate views onmarket acceptability, lack of promotion, awareness and thusavailability," she said.
"This situation caused concern and has led to thegenesis of LM Music. With this, it is our foray into a venturethat will give us unfettered creativity and satisfaction byproducing albums that I believe in," she added.
