Los Angeles: The funeral of former child star Lee Thompson Young will be held at the Paramount Pictures studio, where he filmed episodes of US TV cop drama Rizzoli & Isles.

The actor, who also played the title character on Disney Channel's The Famous Jett Jackson for three years, was found dead earlier this week in his North Hollywood home.

Authorities said that Young, 29, committed suicide, reported TMZ online.

Meanwhile, the family is asking that donations be made to Young Storytellers Foundation, which helps expose underprivileged kids to the arts.

It's unclear why Young, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, committed suicide.

In a statement, Rizzoli & Isles showrunner Janet Tamaro called Young a "sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man."

His longtime manager, Jonathan Baruch, added, "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed."

The show paid tribute to Young on this week's episode.
