The lead stars, Leonardo DiCaprio And Tobey Maguire, reportedly 'hated' the finished version of director R D Robb's film, which was subsequently pulled from release thanks to legal action on behalf of its actors, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"Vimeo has removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire claiming that this material is infringing: Don's Plum," a note on Vimeo's website read.
The film was released online for free by its producer Dale Wheatley. "Although the film remains banned in the US and Canada," Mr Wheatley wrote in a statement on the film's site. He added, "As a writer and producer I am making the film available under my copyright for the sole purpose of promoting my work as an independent filmmaker."
Mr Wheatley first released the film on his site last month. Don's Plum also co-stars Jeremy Sisto and musician Jenny Lewis.
