Aamir and Salman play wrestlers in Dangal and Sultan respectively.
Mumbai:
Actor Shah Rukh Khan said that he will let his contemporaries, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, handle wrestling while he will stick to the romantic genre of films.
"Let Aamir and Salman handle wrestling. Two of them are enough to handle wrestling. Above all I don't look like a wrestler from any angle. I am a romantic hero and I don't know wrestling," said Shah Rukh during a media interaction for Eid celebrations at his residence Mannat.
Salman's Sultan, in which the actor plays the role of a wrestler, is already making leaps and bounds in theatres while later this year, Aamir Khan will also be seen in similar role, but in a biopic based on real-life wrestler Mahavir Phogat.
With two of his Khan contemporaries exploring the "wrestling" genre, it could be thought that he would also follow suit but Shah Rukh, noted for his romantic and emotional characters, said that he doesn't believe in any such thing and would keep playing romantic roles.
Salman's sports drama Sultan and Shah Rukh's dark thriller Raees were set to clash at the box-office this Eid, but this was averted as the release of Raees was pushed to next year after Shah Rukh suffered injuries.
"When two films release at the same time, we don't get the big theatrical release we want. Budget of the film suffers if the movie is not releasing on 4,000 screens. One needs to have 8,000 to 10,000 theatres for two movies to release at the same time. I don't think two big films can release at the same time. Secondly, I suffered some injuries and there are body shot portions I still need to shoot. But otherwise the film is ready," he said.
The movie is slated to hit the theatre on January 26 when Raees will collide with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil, which kicked off recently.
"We have discussed with Hrithik for Kaabil, because the movie has just started shooting. So hopefully we will come out on January 26 or 27, 2017," he added.
Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Gauri Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner - Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan.
