The troubled father of actress Lindsay Lohan received charges in Florida yesterday (November 8, 2011) over his arrest over an alleged physical altercation with his ex-fiancee, Kate Major, on October 25.
He was then taken into custody again a day later after violating a temporary restraining order by phoning her.
Michael, 51, will answer to four misdemeanor offenses: violation of a domestic injunction and domestic violence for his first arrest and violating a condition of pretrial release and resisting arrest for the second.
The final charge has been brought after Michael tried to escape from police by jumping from the balcony of a three-storeyed flat, and falling into a tree.
The showbiz patriarch was jailed in Florida after his second arrest and has been accused by Kate of attacking and bruising her.
The police report stated, "The defendant again pushed her multiple times and squeezed her arms. She suffered minor bruising and complained of shoulder pains."
Michael is also thought to have smashed Kate's cell phone and threatened to throw her from a balcony before police arrived and arrested him.
Michael is not the only Lohan with legal problems at the moment, as Lindsay was jailed in California on Sunday night (November 6, 2011) to fulfill a 30-day sentence for violating her probation, however, was freed after four and a half hours due to overcrowding.
