Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee said that fellow actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay's film Lorai will help him fulfil his goal of playing diverse characters onscreen.
"With the role of a coach now under my belt, it will be difficult to find a character I hadn't portrayed so far," Prosenjit said at the trailer-launch of the movie.
Lorai tells the tale of a footballer who struggles to make a mark in the face of adverse circumstances. Prosenjit lauded Parambrata for making the film so authentic and said that this was possible because the director was a great sports lover himself.
"We slogged for hours in the blistering heat of Purulia," Prosenjit noted.
Parambrata on his part thanked the villagers of Chirugara, situated in the difficult terrains of Purulia district, for the month-long shoot.
Parambrata said, "Lorai, which is a fictional account of the life story of a footballer from humble background, pays tribute to the grit and determination of sportspersons like Leo Messi, Diego Maradona, Didier Drogba to our very own stars like Samaresh Chowdhury and Sibdas Bhaduri."
The cast and crew of Lorai will meet Atletico Kolkata on December 10 as part of the move to promote football among the masses.
