Mumbai: Right after tying the knot with Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan took her customary days off to soak in the wedded bliss. But like every professional, Vidya is back to work, finishing her schedule for Rajkumar Gupta's next and now waiting to start work on her film with Farhan Akhtar. All this while scooping up several awards for her last release Kahaani.
Ques: Do you feel awards increase expectations and responsibility?
Vidya: No, I treat every film differently and every performance is different for me. Though I want all of them to do well. It is like selecting your best eye. You ask yourself which one is more beautiful? I fortunately got to work with good directors and found memorable roles. It is a very special feeling to receive appreciation for what you have done and go back home with trophies in your hands.
Ques: Apart from you, which other actress' work did you appreciate last year?
Vidya: Undoubtedly Sridevi! It was an honour for me to get nominated along with her. In fact I loved Priyanka Chopra too in Barfi!. I think she was unbelievable in the film and I just adored her. Hope God blesses her. As far as Sridevi is concerned, I have been her fan since Mr India. She is a versatile actress. She lights up every frame with her aura. I really don't know how she manages to do that.
Ques: You have done one more film with Emraan Hashmi. Post The Dirty Picture, have the equations between you two changed?
Vidya: During our first film we barely spoke to each other as we had very few scenes together. However in the second film we got a chance to interact a lot. He doesn't talk a lot on the sets but this time it was different. He is very professional while working. Emraan has got some brilliant performance-oriented sequences in the film and he was simply remarkable.
Ques: How was it working with Rajkumar again post No One Killed Jessica?
Vidya: Rajkumar has proven himself in his first film itself. He is young and energetic. He convinced me that I should try comedy as a genre, as he was very confident of me pulling it off. Since I have worked with him before, I naturally share a comfort level with him. He has his own way of presenting strong female characters on screen and I like that a lot. I love his passion and the way he makes the environment light on the sets, even if he is completely charged about doing the shoot.
Ques: When will the sequel of Kahaani go on the floors?
Vidya: I am really thrilled about it. We all know how the first film happened. When we started the project it was only Sujoy Ghosh (director) and I. Sujoy put together the entire crew and we looked so hard for distributors and all. It was a very different journey and overwhelming experience. He has a very diverse way of thinking. I am waiting to read the script as soon as he completes writing it.
Ques: Is Amitabh Bachchan a part of the film?
Vidya: I am not aware if he is part of it but I really hope and wish that he is.
