Animated film Madagascar 3 isall set to make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festivalthis year.
It is the only second film to be announced after festivalopener Moonrise Kingdom, reported Variety magazine.
The studio DreamWorks has a long association with thefilm festival and has premiered past hits Shrek (2000),Shrek 2 (a 2004 competition title), Over the Hedge (2006)and Kung Fu Panda (2008).
The production company also held its international junketfor Kung Fu Panda 2 in Cannes, though it was not in thefestival.
Paramount is releasing the 3D Madagascar 3 in the US onJune 8.
The 65th annual Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to beheld from May 16 to May 27, 2012. The Italian film directorNanni Moretti has been announced as the President of the Jury.
