Actress Madhuri Dixit is outraged by news reports that claimed she 'confessed' to using beauty products that were not of the brand she endorsed for several years.
On Twitter, the 49-year-old star said that the claims were based on a 'fake quote.'
Ms Dixit also tweeted: "Now let's discuss media's responsibility to readers and advertisers."
Over the weekend, Times of India and DNA reported that Ms Dixit had publicly admitted she used a brand of product called BellaVeiand Phytoceramides, rather than Olay, which she advertised till recently. Ms Dixit's alleged confession was branded 'shocking' in the media that reported it.
Madhuri Dixit, star of films like Tezaab, Dil and Beta, was last seen in the 2014 movies Dedh Ishqiya and Gulaab Gang. She judged talent show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa till 2014 and is now on the jury of the Indian version of So You Think You Can Dance.
