After receiving mixed responses to her revealing Met Gala outfit, Madonna hit back at critics, saying her fashion choice was to make a statement in support of gender equality.
Madonna, who turned heads at the star-studded event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit in New York on Monday with her racy outfit, shared a post on Instagram, seemingly hitting back at critics.

Madonna hitmaker wore a custom Riccardo Tisci-designed black Givenchy gown which she teamed with a pair of latex knee-length boots and a silver headpiece for the event. Madonna covered her arms and thighs in black tape, which is commonly used for sports injuries.
