Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's family drama Srimanthudu has approximately grossed over Rs 50 crores in its opening weekend worldwide.
"The opening weekend numbers could be anywhere between Rs 50 crores and Rs 60 crores. The exact numbers are awaited. On release day, the film raked in a whopping Rs 31 crores," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by Koratala Siva, the film features an ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Sampath Raj, Sukanya and Harish Uthaman in important roles.
The film is about a multi-millionaire, who decides to take a village under his wing, and the challenges he faces subsequently.
As on August 10, the film has crossed the $2 million mark at the US box office.
